Pair of 19th Century Carved Fauteuils
About the Item
Pair of fauteuils in the Louis XVI style, having a painted and parcel-gilt finish showing natural wear, each oval padded backrest in a gadrooned frame, surmounted by foliate carving, outswept arms, with elbow rests, ending in scrolls, set on curved terminals, the crown seat over bowed rail, raised on rosette-headed, round, tapering, fluted legs, ending in touipe feet. Newly upholstered in vintage damask fabric finished with nailheads.
