Pair of 19th Century Medieval Style Studded leather Spanish Armchairs
About the Item
An exquisite pair of Mid-19th Century studded leather Spanish armchairs. Featuring tall, slender backrests crowned with subtle arches and grand out-swinging arms, each chair is adorned with chocolate-colored leather upholstery embossed and silver leafed, reminiscent of medieval iron strapwork found on the grand entry doors of European cathedrals. The leather is attached with brass nailheads. With turned wood finials and front legs, complemented by cylindrical back legs and bun feet.
In good condition. Some gentle wear consistent with age and use. Discoloration present on the leather on one of the chairs, but otherwise in very good shape.
No obvious markings on the piece.
These chairs add character and sophistication to any space.
