We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of 19th century late Victorian Carolean throne armchairs in fully restored condition These chairs are absolutely stunning, they were restored in the 1950s to include new leather upholstery and again in the last month to include redying of the leather and generally tidying up The style form and dimensions are really very pleasing, these aren’t so large as the earlier 18th century models which would be t0o large for modern day use in anything other than a castle The frames are solid light mahogany, the leather is fully aniline cattle hide leather, one chair even has the original cattle brand in the top right corner, the stud work is all hand tacked, the base is coil sprung, hand tied, hessian padded and supported with a hessian cover, these are as Fine a pair as you will find anywhere Just imagine these either sides of a fireplace or as hallway sitting chairs, absolutely stunning. They have nice high straight backs and solid arms, they are very easy to exit for those of us who rely on those sorts of things as the years go on As mentioned the chairs are upholstered with fully aniline leather, fully anil is basically untreated natural cattle hide leather, its designed to show off the natural patina of the leather so you see the wonderful creases and any defects or marks, it all adds to the vintage look and feel. Semi-aniline leather is pretreated and perfectly smooth, that's used for modern contemporary pieces Dimensions Height 100cm Width 57cm Depth 67.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
