Pair of Delaisement Cabriolet Armchairs in the Style of Louis XVI
About the Item
These faithful copies of the delightful En Cabriolet armchairs from the Parisian master Nicolas-Denis Delaisement show very fine decorations and elegant proportions. The carving consists of Fine tracery above the acanthus ornamenting the pronounced hollowed moulding of the armrest support, then bead moldings, fusaroles and perlettes, which adorn the balloon-backed chairs. The front legs are fluted and cabled.
These copies come from the original 18th century chairs that were stamped Delaisement in circa 1785 and were sourced in an old house in Normandy (France). Each chair is upholstered in high quality linen fabric.
