Pair of Mid-Century 366 Armchairs, Dark Velvet, by J Chierowski, Europe, 1960s

About the Item

The 366 armchair is an icon of the polish design of the PRL period. The famous armchair was designed in 1962 by the Polish interior designer and furniture designer Jozef Marian Chierowski. Produced in the Lower Silesian Furniture Factory in Swiebodzice. The chair has a simple, modernist form. It consists of an upholstered seat combined with a wooden backrest. The organic shape is typical of the 1960s style. The chair is very ergonomic and comfortable, as the furniture designs of that time were largely focused on the user. Due to its small size, the furniture fits perfectly into the interiors of contemporary apartments, perfectly meeting the needs of customers. The chair is in perfect condition after a professional renovation. We can prepare this chair also in another wood and fabric color. Please check color samples on the last pictures. About the fabric: A rich textile, velvet featuring jacquard workmanship, an admired tribute to the appearance and tactile sensations of a tiger coat. The curves which gently move the velvet ground evoke the markings on the skin of this majestic creature. The echo of a natural wild and unique beauty is upheld with the preciousness of the yarn, selected to recall the bright light reflections of the Sundarbans jungle. Composition: 55% Viscose45% Cotton Weight: 765 g/ml Here set of two armchairs is available.
