A hand-carved walnut open armchair with 'X' or flat Curule-form stretchers joining its four legs; made during the period between the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV (1715-1723), when Philippe d'Orleans was Regent. Tablet-back crest rail and serpentine seat front.
