Russian Neoclassical Mahogany Armchairs, Pair, circa 1800

About the Item

An incredibly rare and unusual pair of circa 1800 Russian or Baltic Directoire style armchairs or fauteuils of both klismos and curule variant form, the solid mahogany frames gilt-metal rosette mounted with upholstered cupped seats and finely carved and ebonized rosette arm terminals and ball-and-eagle-claw front feet.
