Vintage Pierre Chapo Model S340 Armchairs, 11 Available

About the Item

These solid elmwood S340 chairs are a prime example of Chapo's work. The thick saddle leather is perfectly patinaed. Design Notes from Annie Genovese These chairs are so cool. Although their past life was a set of dining chairs, I think they would be better suited as accent chairs in a living space or on either side of a console in a big hallway. They are BIG and you sit way back because of their deep seat. And for a petite gal like me (5'5"), not entirely comfortable when up against a dining table trying to move around a fork and knife. Each chair is so sculptural, a work of art. And the best part, the leather. It's that thick saddle leather that has aged so beautifully. I wish I could buy a new pair of boots with this exact patina. So freaking good. Honestly, the best color leather in the history of the world dot com. There are 11 chairs available. Priced as each.

  • Early Pierre Chapo 'S10X' Armchair in Cognac Leather and Elm
    By Pierre Chapo
    Located in Waalwijk, NL
Pierre Chapo, armchair model 'S10X', elm, leather, France, circa 1964. This design is an early edition, created according to the original craft methodology of Pierre Chapo. This comfortable armchair in solid elmwood and cognac saddle leather features a wonderful and rich patina. The chair is therefore especially interesting as the ageing of the leather creates an authentic feel. The chair is based on Chapo's 48 x 72 assembly principle. The S10 chair is most likely a reference to Corbusier's LC2. It was a very popular chair...
