This fabulous traditional classic Chippendale open armchairs are exceptionally designed, and hand-crafted in the style of Thomas Chippendale, circa 1760. Hand-carved walnut by skilled artisans using high-quality materials. Features a shell-carved crest rail with ears above an interlaced pierced back splat and leafage carving with volutes. The shaped-out curved arms rest ends with elegant floral carving, front cabriole legs with leafage carving at the knee ending in ball and claw feet, slip seats and a rear stretcher. Smith and Watson have carried the excellence of the eighteenth century successfully into the twenty-first century, a London furniture shop based in New York City since 1907. Their shop utilizes the talents of the most skilled craftspeople available.     Wear consistent with age and use. In good vintage condition and look absolutely wonderful. Fabric is in excellent condition. The wood frame and arms are in very good condition, have a few minor hairline scratches and small nicks. a small repair to one arm has been done at some point.
