19th C. Italian Bench w/Carved Legs & Forged Iron Nailhead Accents, 5.5 Ft Long
About the Item
An Italian upholstered bench with carved-wood legs and large nail-head accents, 19th century. This antique from Italy, just over 5.5 feet in length, has an upholstered seat with fantastic iron nail-head accents outlining the seat rail about its perimeter. It is presented upon three pair (6 total) of squared and tapering legs, with rounded and carved profiles just beneath the skirting, and terminating into peg-style feet. The early upholstery is a cut velvet fabric in a salmon color, and though it is older, it is still in usable condition. The original black finish to the wood legs has a handsome patina to it. This 19th century Italian seat bench will be a beautiful addition placed at the foot of a bed, within an entry hall, or perhaps floated within a long room to visually divide space. The forged-iron studs and black legs really make this piece!
