alligator bench or coffee table

About the Item

The starting point for the design came from the idea of geometrization an alligator. To create a form, minimal and abstract, the triangle shaped void that forms the mouth is the same filled that forms the tail, but rotated. It's a very versatile design because the bench can also be used as a coffee table, a piece tot your feet in front the sofa. Important to notice, completely handmade, from the first cut to the finissing. The final product is the result of a skilled hand. Bench created for the campaign: "I want to be an alligator", which brought together carpenters and designers to create an alligator-themed bench, in support of institutions that promote vaccination in Brazil. The bench can be made from a single piece of wood like the picture (wood: cumarú) or by gluing wooden planks, so it can be made with a greater variety of woods and dimensions. Completely made from hardwood. Very durable, especially with this design. For indoor use the recommended finishing is tung oil, environmentally correct, non toxic and very easy maintain. The seat height is 33cm (13 pol), seat width 18,5 cm (7,3 pol), the alligator feet is 28 cm (11 pol) wide. The dimensions are customizable.
