Antique Restored Brown Leather Chesterfield Flamed Hardwood Hall Bench Ottoman
About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this very large, fully restored Victorian circa 1860-1880, hand dyed cigar brown leather hall bench or ottoman with huge amounts of internal storage with the flamed mahogany frame.
This is one of the most impressive pieces I have seen in a long time, it has been on a journey of restoration that has taken around three months to complete. The top has been newly upholsterer with plain Italian fully aniline hide leather, its then been hand dyed this wonderful cigar brown colour, the flamed mahogany has been lightly washed back and French polished
The leather has then been hand dyed six times, antiqued and sealed, the colour is simply glorious, this is the finest of this type of bench you will find anywhere in the world
Condition wise the top is new as mentioned, the timber will have age and use related patina marks here and there, there is a timber shrinkage split along the base but that doesn't matter.

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
