Benches by Ton in Bentwood

About the Item

TON, benches, bentwood, faux leather, Czech Republic, 1960s These benches are manufactured by TON in the 1960s. The benches have a circular bentwood frame with striking round forms. Seat and backrest are upholstered in brown leatherette. TON was founded after World War Two in former Thonet factories and continued with the furniture making tradition set up by Thonet. In the 1960s, TON asked various architects to contribute to research and developments of new designs using the technology of bentwood and leading to new, more contemporary designs. Please note that the leatherette has tears and holes. Reupholstery is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized reupholstery is possible as well. The listed price, is the price per item.
