About the Item

A substantial late 18th century gilt wood window seat/bench from an Irish country house. Inspired by the French rococo-style which is characterised by its lavish and high-relief carvings. The seat features high sides, carved swags, shells and anthemion decoration on scroll feet. Requires reupholstering. Perfect for the end of the bed or in a window.
