1950’s Classic Bentwood Painted Shield Dining Chair By Ton – Set Of Five 1950’s Classic Bentwood Painted Shield Dining Chair By Ton – Set Of Five. These chairs were produced in volume by the famous Czech firm Ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs, they are an offshoot of Thonet. This model was a kitchen staple in Czech homes, they came with a painted frame which was often repainted but usually stayed white or off white. We have cleaned them but kept the original colour and character which is what these chairs are all about. We service each chair individually before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height 46cm. WORKSHOP REPORT Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
