This sculptural occasional chair was crafted by the French design duo Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. The three flat legs are made of dark oak, with one leg angled upwards to form the rounded backrest. Originally, the wood was sourced from wine barrels, resulting in a subtly curved shape that imparts a dynamic look, accentuating the distinctive details of its original use. The rustic appearance of the wood complements the circular seat and backrest made of straw. Thick braids arranged in a circular pattern create a lively motif. The natural texture of the material forms a delightful contrast with the dark wood, adding to the decorative character of the design. Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet were a French design couple primarily active in the 1940s and 1950s. Their overarching philosophy aimed at creating furniture from readily available materials. Consequently, their creations often featured various types of wood and natural ropes.
