Contemporary Plain Clay Dining Chair with Arm by Maarten Baas
About the Item
This Dining Chair comes from Maarten Baas’s Plain Clay collection. This collection was originally developed for the Mendini restaurant in the Groninger Museum.
Unlike the Clay Series, the Plain Clay pieces do not require lacquered finishes. This difference occurs for a functional reason - the standard Clay technique needed to fit the needs of an intensively used public place. The differing finish allows for the natural quality of the material to be exposed; pigment is added to the natural substance rather than through a lacquer to create vivid colouration of the material.
