The diverse professional background of Milanese artisan Paolo Calcagni included the direction of advertisements for global brands such as Swatch, Vodafone, and l’Oréal… He was also involved as creator and editor of “The Official Point of View”, a visual diary of the Salone del Mobile, the international design show held every year in Milan. This experience in particular made him discover his talent for design. Thus, he founded Sotow in 2013, a brand under which he creates unique furniture pieces in iron that revisit classics characterized by playful colors as well as salon elegance. Calcagni’s passion for design, his collaboration with expert artisans and craftsmen, and the use of innovative technologies alongside traditional methods are the secret of the success of this Made in Italy atelier. Our objects are simple and timeless and they are made just like tailored clothes: customized to our clients’ taste and needs. Nowadays design depersonalizes beauty and comfort. Sotow goes the opposite way and makes pieces to order. the chair are sandblasted with steel spheres and powder coated, RAL colors, while the central part is colored with a two-component Polyurethane. Then we add the brass feet and at the same time we create the velvet cushion, stain-resistant, fire-retardant, water-repellent fabric, stain-resistant Alcantara Nbk, or a HD printed fabric.
