Georges Robert dining chairs in patinated oak and rush, France 1950s
Set of 8 Mountain or chalet chairs made by Meubles Georges Robert french cabinetmaker in the 1950s. The structure is of solid oak with conical legs. The seat is woven rush, reminiscent of the work done for Charlotte Perriand furniture. The grain of the wood is nicely visible and has an excellent original patina. These chairs would be an eye-catching addition to any interior, such as the dining room, family room, screening room, or office. When you choose for used mid-century design, you use what is already there, making it sustainable. You may not give the furniture a second, but even a third or fourth life. Mid-century design furniture is often a high-quality product that lasts several lives for a reason. Some furniture has a rich history, and the story is still visible or tangible with some.
