Hedonê chair by Mameluca Material: Corian, Stainless steel Dimensions: D65 x W85 x H95 cm The anatomical and physiological studies allowed the discovery that the clitoris was not only richer in nerve endings but also more vascularised, making it the most sensitive part of the genitalia. With the external stimuli made from the muscular movements, the nervous apparatus creates these stimuli, giving the sensation of pleasure. Because of historical female sexual oppression, which was widely historically documented in the Nineteenth Century, with the intention of curbing the feminist movement, we wanted to honour women with the creation of Hedonê, an armchair that celebrate the satisfaction of female pleasure from its two main libidinal points: the clitoris and the Gräfenberg spot through external stimulation, whilst creating connotations of a blossoming flower, celebrating how natural the sex drive is. "Our goal with Design is to tell stories, generating questions, emotions and discoveries through human senses. Contemporary design transcends basic survival needs and leads us to a poetic design of new information and experiences." The studio was launched in 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After 10 years, it’s time to cross the Atlantic and explore the old world not only historically but the way the old has being reinvented everyday based on the needs of the new. We are still in a transitional atmosphere without a physical space, but full of expectations with the new horizon.
