Herman Sperlich "Health Chair" for Ironrite Corporation, 1938

About

Originally designed by Herman Sperlich for the Ironrite Corporation, this chair is an example of early ergonomic design and was originally designed to be used by factory workers. Now it is considered a collector's item, and is included in the permanent collection at MoMA. Patent No. 0112453. This piece has heavy patina, but that is in keeping with the Industrial nature and beauty of the piece.
