Italian Pair of Side "Parata" Chairs, Wood + Decorated Pink Velvet
About the Item
Pair of "Parata" side chairs from the Louis XIV period (18th Century) made in Lombardy, in Northern Italy, with skilfully carved wood.
The two chairs have a high back, padded and covered in pink velvet, with an elegant decorative element in matching trimmings.
The wooden legs, with elongated spools, have a refined decorative element on the four sides with vines and small round flowers.
But the most particular element is the central connecting crosspiece, resting on two crosspieces,
carved to form a sort of semi-shield with curls and rich decoration.
