About the Item

Leggera design fits perfectly the current trends and consumers’ expectations, especially in terms of environment friendly solutions. Pursuant to MMT idea (Mono Material Thinking), the chair is made of just one material, aluminum, what allows to recycle it entirely. Its aluminum frame, seat and back keep together with aluminum welds, just like in professional bicycle frame. This solution fulfills the criteria of reasonable resources management called Circular Economy. It assumes manufacturing products from materials that can be retrieved and reused. About the artist/ designer: Oskar Zieta, an architect, designer, artist and innovator. Born in 1975, after he graduated architecture at Szczecin University of Technology in 2000, he has got a scholarship at ETH Zurich. Over the course of 2 years of postgraduate studies he developed skills in parametric design and modern manufacturing technologies finalized with PhD graduation. Currently he runs the department of Industrial Design at School of Form. Laureate of many prestigious awards in design and technology. Inventor of FiDU - inner pressure metal forming technology - the keystone to Zieta Collection, Zieta Out of Ordinary as well as large scale sculptures like NAWA on Daliowa Island in Wroclaw and WIR in Galeria Pólnocna in Wroclaw. Oskar Zieta has been awarded the AUDI – Mentor-Price 2011, the Red Dot Award 2008, DMY Award for Innovation in production process 2008, the YDMI 2008, the German Design Council Prize 2009, the Forum Aid Awards 2009, Technology Award Materialica 2009, MUST HAVE Design Lódz 2011 and was nominated to Mies Van Der Rohe Award 2019, the Schweizer Design Preis 2009 and the Dobry Wzór 2009. Oskar Zieta is a CEO of Zieta Studio established in 2010 in Wroclaw. The company is an interdisciplinary team of architects, designers, engineers and technologists as well as production line and Industrial implementation workers. Specialists in many fields are permanent collaborators of Zieta Studio - psychologists, biologists, scientists and many others. FiDU Innovation Lab develops its own, innovative technologies of stabilizing sheet metal, i.e. FiDU and 3+ and their application to modern architecture, engineering and design.
