About the Item
Charlotte Perriand was a French architect and designer who became known for her collaboration with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret beginning in 1924. Her early creations were made with materials that were expensive and technically difficult to work with. However, in the 1930s, her focus became more egalitarian and she began working with wood and cane, more affordable materials. Les Arc is one of her main masterpieces. It's a Ski Resort in Savoia (France) where she had the chance, between the 60s and the 70s, to think about and realize a great complex of buildings that could fit the Alps' landscape and get along with it. Here is a set of six chairs designed for the occasion of this project. In fact, she selected these chairs then took over time their individual path. Structure in chromed metal, cover in dark red leather. Good condition, fully original.
