Lillemor Mannerheim, High-Back "Mona" Chairs, 6 Pcs, Nesto, Scandinavian Modern

About the Item

Lillemor Mannerheim (1927-1994) Finland, artist and designer. She was one of the leading designers for Gefle, Rörstrand and Arabia in the 1950s-1980s. She studied at Higher Art Industry School in Stockholm from 1945-49, and continued her education focusing on sculptural technique at the Académi de la Grande Chaumiére in Paris. She exhibited at Trienalen i Milano 1954 and her sculpture "LeVieux Paysan" in chamotte is a part of the Musee dÁrt Moderne collection in Paris. This set with six high-back chairs demonstrate her daring design within the otherwise quite sober Scandinavian Modern. Model MONA was designed by Mannerheim in the 1960s for NESTO, Nässjö Stolfabrik Sweden. The chairs are all in original color, patina, signs of normal use. One chairs has a grey tone. Marked underneath seats: Nesto.
