Mid century teak and vinyl dining chairs by Lübke, Germany 1960s
About the Item
Set of 9 mid century dining chairs. The frames are made from teak and the seats have vinyl upholstery. The backrest flows almost seamless into the upper frame giving it an appearance as if it was sculpted out of one piece of wood. All 9 chairs are in very good condition with age and use consistent user marks.
The chairs are not marked with the Lübke label. these were probably lost after reupholstery. After some research on the web we can guarentee that these are made by Lübke.
In 1937, the brothers Hans and Leo Lübke founded the brothers Lübke GmbH & Co. KG, a "special factory for polished bedrooms" in Wiedenbrück. The brand name Interlübke was created in 1963. The name component "Inter" refers to "interior" and "internationality", the second to the name of the then owner family.
