Reclaiming simple materials and basic shapes, with an eye to architecture and mountain life, led to the creation of two historic design low table-stools inspired respectively by the milking stool used by mountain shepherds in the French town much loved by the author.
Placed individually or in lively arrangements, the two low tables bring the pleasing lightness of solid wood to indoor settings emphasized by the continuity of the grain between the top and the edges and the countless natural variations in the wood.
Each piece is made of unique solid wood, so every piece will be different from one another and not exactly as the one on the photos.
Both pieces are inspired by the mountains. While the latter takes its name from the milking-stool used by alpine shepherds, the former is inspired by the French locality much loved by designer and architect Charlotte Perriand. These furnishing accessories stand out for the honesty of their simple shapes and for the concrete expression of their materials and function. Here we have a real set of 6 identical chairs, with the same color and the same patina.
Charlotte Perriand studied at the Union School of Decorative Arts, which introduced her to the style of Le Corbusier and his new architecture. She joined Le Corbusier's studio in 1924 with Pierre Jeanneret. They will design furniture together which will be the beginning of the modernist movement with the B306 chair and the very comfortable club armchairs with a single steel frame.
It was a great success, which led Charlotte Perriand in 1950 to collaborate with the famous Jean Prouvé to make work tables and desks, shelves with aluminum bread dividers and bright colors in a Paris university.
Then Charlotte Perriand in the 60s will change her style, she makes chairs with S-shaped legs and above all adopts a rustic look using straw...

We have here a very rare lot, of 12 identical chairs, of the Dordogne model, by Charlotte Perriand. This set, is an authentic and original, it comes from a family living in Madrid. This family bought their chairs in the 1960s. They didn't had any other owner, and they are all in good condition. So we have here a homogeneous and authentic set of 12 chairs, which aisextremely rarely found. People often add 2 set of six for example, but it is never the same patina. Here we have a real set of 12 identical chairs, with the same color and the same patina.
