Set of Four Cubist Chairs, by Josef Gočár, Solid Oak, Red Leather, Czech, 1910s

About the Item

This set was designed by famous czech designer Josef Gočár as part of the interior of a family home in Hradec Králové (Czechoslovakia). The upholstery is firm and not worn, but the condition and patina of the leather corresponds to age and use. In pristine original condition, the upholstery has been professionally cleaned, and its polish revived by our refurbishing team in Czechia. It has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia according to the original process. This item features classic Art Deco elements. Art Deco is a style that originated in France in the early 20th century. Its furniture designs are meticulously crafted, usually using exotic woods. Pieces are typically lacquered to give off a dazzling gloss. These eloquently crafted pieces will add visual performance and posh to any interior.
