    Four Green Chairs 771 by Joseph André Motte, Steiner, 1958 Set of 4 chairs model 771, it is often called "the tongue chair" because of its design. It was published by Steiner in 1958. The vintage velvet of the chairs is authentic, so it may have some defects due to its age but still in very good condition. Joseph-André Motte (1925 - 2013) was an interior architect and one of the great figures of French design in the 1950s and 1960s. At the École des arts appliqués à l'industrie (now ENSAAMA), he studied under René Gabriel, Louis Sognot and Albert Guénot, graduating top of his class in 1948.
