About the Item
Six super light 'Chiavarina' dining chairs in black lacquered beech, cherry or maple wood with original braided wicker seat. This chair, model 'Campanino' was created by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi 'il Campanino' (1767-1855) and manufactured by Fratelli Levaggi or Podestà-sedie, Chiavari (LI), Italy, circa 1940.
This legendary chair was the protagonist of the great Milanese design season of the 1950s which, among other things, inspired Gio Ponti to design the Legera chair (1952) and the Superleggera (1957). The weight of the chair: 1.3 Kg (28.7 lb).
