About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely suite of five vintage brown leather steamer seating and coffee table A very good looking well made and comfortable suite of vintage steamer furniture. These are called steamer because they were originally designed for the grand Victorian Steam ships, they would be used on deck or taken to land when in port These are based on a very early Victorian design, the frames are carved from solid hardwood and have a design called Famboo, in the Georgian era when the oriental bamboo furniture started making its way to our shores and became insanely expensive and highly collectable English craftsman started copying the design making fake bamboo furniture hence the term Famboo, its basically English hard woods carved to look like bamboo Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished the set from top to bottom, they do have some age so will have the odd patina mark, mostly they are in fine order throughout X2 armchair dimensions: Height 89.5cm Width 55cm Depth 53cm Seat height 45.5 X2 stool dimensions: Height 45cm Width 62.5cm Depth 40cm X1 coffee table dimensions: Height 54.5cm Width 56.5cm Depth 46cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
