Swedish 1960s Pitch Pine Chairs
About the Item
Wonderful set of Swedish chairs in beautiful pitch pine with a striking grain pattern and amazing patina. Reupholstered in a boucle by Kirkby design. Super sculptural and high quality. The chairs are unattributed to a designer or maker but have the feel of Swedish pine pieces from the 1940's and are similar in style to pieces by Axel Einar Hjorth. The timber is heavy and very fine quality. The design is super well thought through and the chairs have lots of personality. The higher backs make the chairs a very comfortable chair to relax in. They are slightly rounded at the back to provide a nice and fully supported fit. We have added a new seat pad and new upholstery in a cream / white boucle that contrasts and works exceptionally well with the perfectly patinated pine wood. They are original and great chairs.
