Swedish Rococo Original Painted Carved Shell Detailed Chair, circa 18th Century

About the Item

A lovely 18th century Swedish Rococo single chair which is full of original character. It was made in 1760. The chair features carved shell detailing to the front of the seat and back, with trailing leaf detailing to the legs. It retains traces of its original paint and is ready to be reupholstered to your fabric preference. The paintwork has been hand scraped revealing its original paint finish The chair could be used as a desk or side chair and can easily stand alone.
