Original Matched Pair French Art Deco Club Chairs by Paul Follot, France, 1930s

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

Matched pair of French Art Deco club chairs with gessoed and gilt-wood frames which include the fluted legs that taper and terminate with flattened balls, and backs that come to graceful Gothic points. As refined as ever, these chairs are down filled and covered in a blue-fog French silk brocade and trimmed in a matching silk braid, all thought to be the original upholstery. Sold as a pair with their matching lumbar cushions. They are totally original with visible wear on the gilded frames and the headrests portion at the top but are solid and sturdy and can be used now as is for a long time to come. They hug you when sitting on them.
Paul Follot was a designer and decorator and an Art Deco traditionalist. His early designs were inspired by neo-Gothic as seen in the top of the frames on these chairs.
