19th century hand painted folk art corner seat
About the Item
19th century hand painted folk art corner seat circa 1880.
We are pleased to offer this rare traditional piece of hungarian furniture, hand painted in a blue/green and red colour scheme.
2 benches interlock to form a 90 degree bench. Both bench sections with 3 panels in the back, decorated with painted birds and florals, surrounded by further painted borders. Dentil detailing below the top rail, each end with a scroll arm finish. Supported by trestle type legs.
Offered in original condition with expected fading and wear to paint and woodwork. Traces of dead inactive treated worm to feet. Structure gains it's strength from being placed against a wall or installation, retro strengthening could be added but dependant on where it is being fitted and recommended to be done in situ.
