1920s dark Elm Church, Chapel dining chairs, set of six 1920s Elm Church, Chapel dining chairs, set of six. England has a wonderfully rich heritage for making chairs. At the height of production at the turn of the last century over 4500 chairs were being produced daily in the villages around High Wycombe. Each chair was handmade typically in oak or elm. We have a passion for Church chairs and will blog about the history at some stage. We also have a growing collection to highlight the immense variety of shapes and styles that were so beautifully made. Sadly Churches find non stacking chairs take up too much space so they find their way to us to for a second rich life. These chairs are in incredible condition, handmade in elm and beech they are faultless, look under the seats and you can see the original saw marks, slightly primitive, but honest and true. We have a number of these chairs available and are selling them in any multiple required, sets of four, six, eight or simply in singles. We service and wax each chair individually before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. We specialise in high quality vintage dining chairs and have a large range.
