1950’s Original Yellow French Tolix Wood Seat Metal Bistro Dining Chair – Large Quantities Available 1950’s Original Yellow French Tolix Wood Seat Metal Bistro Dining Chair – Large Quantities Available. Tolix is one of our all time favourite companies. In 1907 Frenchman Xavier Pauchard discovered that he could protect sheet metal from rusting by dipping it in molten zinc (galvanisation) and a few years later he set up his factory producing steel furniture. Tolix was the creator and founder of perhaps the most iconic cafe chair of all time, the Tolix model A, designed in 1934 and sadly now copied worldwide. This Tolix model is very rare, it is unusual to find the wood seat version with the elegant steel frame and kicked back legs with the original mustard yellow paint, these chairs are in exceptional original condition. The label is for the original distributer Henri Julien, not the maker. Our workshop services each chair before it leaves us and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height 45cm. WORKSHOP REPORT Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
