A delightful Vintage set of eight superb bar back dining chairs, Hand Crafted by Mines of Downley, Buckinghamshire", England and dating from the mid 20th Century. Masterfully crafted in beautiful solid mahogany throughout, the finish and attention to detail on display are truly breathtaking. Comprising six side chairs and two armchairs all featuring an attractive bar back design with 'drop in' seats that have been upholstered in the finest patterned blue fabric. This is a lovely set of fourteen antique Victorian solid mahogany "Athenian" design dining chairs, Circa 1870 in date. The top rails, sides and central splats feature beautfully carved geometric designs and the chairs are raised on turned and reeded front legs legs that terminate in brass and brown porcelain castors. We have just reupholstered the chairs in a sumptuous Moore & Giles tan leather with individual brass studs. Transform the fine dining experience in your home with this beautiful and comfortable set of chairs in classical design. The botanical name for the mahogany these chairs are made of is Swietenia Macrophylla and this type of mahogany is not subject to cites regulation. Condition: In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished, waxed and reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
