About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning suite of eight Louis XVI style circa 1860-1880 dining chairs from Spencer House which was built for the Spencer family between 1756-1766 for John, the first Earl Spencer, currently resides Charles Spencer the 9th Earl Spencer I have various pieces from the last Spencer house sale, which is still owned by Lady Diana Spencer’s family, the history of the items is that Lord Rothschild in the 1980’s leased the property, at that time the house was restored, the pieces furnished the offices, meeting rooms and the newly restored State rooms. Included with each listing is a picture of the piece in situs These chairs are made in the Louis XVI style, they are Napoleon III, the frames have all the original gilding which has beautifully aged and worn throughout to reveal the base plaster beneath which has a purplish tinge to it. The upholstery has been professionally cleaned, it has some light patina marks here and there, it is the 100% correct type of fabric for this period chair Dimensions Height:- 96cm Width:- 50cm Depth:- 54.5cm Seat height:- 52.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition.
