About the Item

J-Chair is another FiDU manifesto with a strong and iconic visual character with a light and durable costruction.J-Chair was created at the special request for Museum Jerke located in Recklinghausen Win Germany. It’s the only museum of Polish contemporary art outside of Polish borders. The inspiration for the creation of the J-Chair was architectural form of Museum. The impression that the structure of the building is “cutted” and divided into parts inspired us to imitate its design process during the J-Chair creation. There are two analogies in the process of creating J-Chair. One of them is inspiration of the composition in Strzeminski’s work “Wladyslaw Strzeminski, Flat Construction – breakage of a black rectangle, 1923”. The second one is the process of creating an architectural form of Museum Jerke in Recklinghausen. Both give the impression that the composition of the image as well as the design of the building have a visible divisions and cuttings. Similarly, the design of J-Chair made in FiDU technology arose from cuts, the whole creates a coherent object with a strong visual character. Born in 1975, after he graduated architecture at Szczecin University of Technology in 2000, he has got a scholarship at ETH Zurich. Over the course of 2 years of postgraduate studies he developed skills in parametric design and modern manufacturing technologies finalized with PhD graduation. Currently he runs the department of Industrial Design at School of Form. Laureate of many prestigious awards in design and technology. Inventor of FiDU - inner pressure metal forming technology, the keystone to Zieta Collection, Zieta Out of Ordinary as well as large scale sculptures like NAWA on Daliowa Island in Wroclaw and WIR in Galeria Pólnocna in Wroclaw. Oskar Zieta has been awarded the AUDI – Mentor-Price 2011, the Red Dot Award 2008, DMY Award for Innovation in production process 2008, the YDMI 2008, the German Design Council Prize 2009, the Forum Aid Awards 2009, Technology Award Materialica 2009, MUST HAVE Design Lódz 2011 and was nominated to Mies Van Der Rohe Award 2019, the Schweizer Design Preis 2009 and the Dobry Wzór 2009. His designs carved out their way into numerous prestigious collections including Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Zurich Design Museum and the Baden State Museum In Karlsruhe. Oskar Zieta is a CEO of Zieta Studio established in 2010 in Wroclaw. The company is an interdisciplinary team of architects, designers, engineers and technologists as well as production line and Industrial implementation workers. Specialists in many fields are permanent collaborators of Zieta Studio - psychologists, biologists, scientists and many others. FiDU Innovation Lab develops its own, innovative technologies of stabilizing sheet metal, i.e. FiDU and 3+ and their application to modern architecture, engineering and design.
