Kurt Østervig for Sibast, pair of dining chairs, cognac leather, oak, Denmark, 1960s.
These characteristic chairs are made in solid oak, with seating and back from thick cognac leather. The lines and forms are simple, yet with the right amount of tension. The leather upholstery is in rich patinated condition, with dark stains and discoloration all-over. The style of the wooden frame is simple and understated and executed in a dignified manner. The age-appropriate patinated cognac contributes to the rich and warm appearance of the chair.
