M H Baillie Scott Arts & Crafts oak side chair with line & Mother of Pearl inlay

About the Item

M H Baillie Scott. A period Arts and Crafts oak side chair with canted corners to the top and a circular double loop inlaid detail centered with a Mother-of-Pearl dot. The central backrest runs down through the seat uniting it to the back lower stretcher, a detail B Scott used often. It originally had a rush seat which you can still see underneath.
