An exceptional Art Nouveau dining suite in walnut comprising of an extension table and six dining chairs that are original to the suite. Table features very well-articulated open and high-relief carvings of whiplash curves, a popular motif during the Art Nouveau period, and offers two original leaves that rest on drawer supports. Suite is from the region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais in France, from the city of Lille or possibly from across the border in Brussels, Belgium, circa 1900. Table is accompanied by a set of six very beautiful and well-articulated Art Nouveau dining chairs with walnut frames featuring open-carved whiplash curves on back crest, carved floral finials, and raised carvings of whiplash curves on apron and knees of front saber legs, France, circa 1890-1900. Note: Walnut chair frames have been restored and French-polished, and have been newly re-upholstered in cream-colored, Sunbrella fabric with Kravet Classic Tape trim. Table has been restored and French-polished. Chairs: 18.5" wide x 19" deep x 41.25" high (seat height: 19.5"). Table: 51.5" long x 39.5" wide x 29" high (two leaves: 18" wide each).
