Rare Set of 6 Victorian 1840 Hoop Back Windsor Chairs High Wycombe, England

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale very rare set of 6 original early Victorian elm windsor hoop back dining chairs, circa 1840 Its very rare to find a set of six, The chairs are hand carved from solid slabs of elm, the seat bases each have a different patina and timber grain, some of them are absolutely glorious, the legs have worn through the tops of some of the seat pads as you can see in the pictures, again this is simply the best patina you could possibly hope for. The frames are solid, they have two stretchers along the base and two additional back stretchers which attach to a protruding piece of timber which is part of the seat base, this is an identifying feature on Windsor chairs from the High Wycombe area during the Victorian era We have cleaned waxed and polished them, there are normal patina marks as mentioned all over, please view the detailed pictures Dimensions: Height:- 85.5cm Width:- 42.5cm Depth:- 49cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Delivery or collection: This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses.
