Set of 8 Danish Dining Chairs in Walnut by Th Schmidt 1940's
About the Item
Superb and rare set of dining chairs produced by Master Furniture Maker, TH. Schmidt in Copenhagen Denmark in 1946 (we have a copy of the original receipt). The chairs are show similar design cues as some of Wegner's early designs for Mikael Laursen and also some of Ole Wanscher's designs, but that is in trend with the styles of the time. The chairs are made of hand-carved solid oak walnut with great color and grain. They are still covered in their original wool that is still usable although we would recommend re-upholstering the chairs. Overall very good condition showing just mild and appropriate age wear which is amazing considering the age.
