Set of 9 Art Deco Cafe Chairs by Kohn Mundus
About the Item
Jacob & Josef Kohn produced bentwood chairs in the 19th and early 20th centuries and were the major competitor of Thonet.
In 1914 Kohn merged with Mundus, the other major competitor, to form Kohn-Mundus. In 1923 Thonet was forced to merge with Kohn-Mundus forming Mundus-Allgemeine- Handels-und Industrie-Gesellschaft, then the largest furniture concern in the world.
These chairs are dated from between 1914 and 1923.
