Set of Eight French Louis XVI Style Walnut Dining Chairs
About the Item
Distinctive set of eight French carved dining chairs crafted in the grand Louis XVI taste. Constructed from rich walnut with neoclassical motifs of acanthus and rosettes on the seats. The set consists of six side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 22.5 inches wide and deep with a height of 40.5 inches. The chairs have a classic balloon or cameo shaped back. The seats are upholstered with a shimmery gilt vintage damask fabric having a fruit motif. While the fabric is vintage it still shows well and is presentable with minor signs of wear. The fabric is bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. The padded arms measure 27 inches high. Lovely profile with an aged patina that is full of character and charm.

- Condition:Repaired: old repairs. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Beautifully crafted with vintage upholstery that shows minor wear and small stains seen in photos. Age appropriate wear with fair joinery and aged patina on the wood finish with minor blemishes as expected. Old repairs which are difficult to see.
