Set Of Eight Italian 18th Century Venetian St. Dining Chairs

About the Item

A sensational set of eight Italian mid 18th century Venetian st. red Polychrome and Giltwood dining chairs. The set of six side chairs and two armchairs are elegantly raised on cabriole legs decorated by a central gilt crest below a cartouche with foliage. The scalloped apron has a central seashell and scrolled mottled Giltwood bands which continue down each leg. Each chair displays stunning hammered crimson red polychrome backgrounds on the front and sides, with the scrolled arms above decorated in the same elegant manner with wonderful Giltwood movements throughout. The arms lead to the upholstered backs displaying a most attractive scalloped shape and finished with French nails.
