About the Item

Charming set of five french painted dining chairs made in the grand Louis XVI style. The chairs feature a painted wood finish with an intentionally aged, distressed patina on the finish to mimic age. The finish has a fine craquelure with wood showing through. Newly upholstered with a whimsical houndstooth pattern fabric having a welt border. Solid chairs with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The frames have a classic balloon back or cameo back conjoined to seats with neoclassical rosettes carved on the corners. The seats are supported by fluted legs ending with toupie feet. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.
