Set of Four Balloon-Back Napoleon III Dining Chairs
About the Item
A beautiful set of four balloon backed antique French dining chairs dating from the Napoleon III period. Comfortable as well as elegant, each chair is sculpted from finest mahogany, with scrolls of acanthus adorning the top rail, and a decorative floral centre splat below. The seats are shaped and padded and upholstered in a luxurious creamy white fabric, which has been stitched throughout with an exquisite floral motif, and secured all around with a matching braid. The shaped and carved apron features an ornate floral design flanked by sprays of foliage, supporting the seat as it rises above four slender cabriole legs.
